En suisse outre les universités certaines écoles spécialisée proposent un cursus et un certificat de formation professionnelle pour certains domaines à savoir: Les secteurs de la technique, de l’architecture, de l’économie et de la conception. On compte Sept hautes écoles spécialisées dans le pays et qui proposent une formation calquée sur le modèle anglo-américain ces écoles sont :

Just a few precisions:
- the proper name of these schools is: in French: « Haute école spécialisée » (HES) – not « école spécialisée »; in German: « Fachhochschule » (FH); in English: « University of Applied Sciences » (UAS);
- to the seven public UAS, two private UAS (Kalaidos and UAS Les Roches-Gruyère) must be added whose websites are indicatrd below

Finally, be aware that the Swiss UAS are at the same level (tertiary A) as the academic Universities (Geneva, Neuchâtel, Fribourg, Bern, Basel, Zurich, Lucerne, St. Gallen, Lugano) and as that of the Swiss Federa Institute of Technology (EPFL in Lausanne and ETHZ in Zuric). The UAS offer the two first cycles of Bologna, i.e. Bachelor + Master.
